Found in John 13 verses thirty-four and thirty-five, this is one of the greatest commandments ever given to us.
Love is a universal language and such a blessing to give as well as to receive. Housetops for Haiti welcomes those who wish to join us in Haiti loving on the Haitian people. We've seen firsthand the impact it can make on these people when we just simply make ourselves available and give our time and love. Once it was a family who would have lost their beloved mother and her unborn child if love hadn't stepped in. Or when a father needed medical attention for his infant son who couldn't eat due to an infection in his mouth, love stepped in. Another time it was an elderly widow woman who would have gone hungry if love hadn't stepped in. Or the amazing transformation of a family who had a new roof or a new home donated to them. Just to name a few. Sometimes its just being there and playing games with a group of Haitian children that can bring the biggest reward or when that steely eyed cautious stare turns into a priceless smile; love has stepped in. A little love can go a long long way.
See for yourself what we are talking about and join us in loving the people of Haiti.
